FINANCIAL AID

There are a variety of financial aid programs available to students who qualify. The most suitable financial aid package for each applicant to Ridley-Lowell will be discussed at the personal interview upon enrollment. Brief descriptions of the financial aid programs currently available are outlined below. Other financial aid and consumer information, as well as applications, can be obtained from the school's financial aid office.

Students are not entitled to receive financial aid if they are currently in default on any loan made under the Federal Direct Loan, Stafford Student Loan, Direct Loans, SLS, PLUS, or Perkins Loan program and/or owe a refund on a grant received under Title IV programs at any postsecondary institution. Students are required to sign a Default/Refund certification statement, verification of draft registration statement, drug policy statement, and a request for a financial aid transcript from all previous institutions.

PELL GRANTS

Pell Grant awards are federal aid available to students who have not received a Bachelor's Degree. Award amounts are based upon federal income tax return information, non-taxable income, parent/student financial resources, family size, and number of dependents in college. These amounts are received for each year (July 1 through June 30). Amounts received are grants for educational expenses and need not be repaid. Applications are available from the financial aid office and must be filed by the appropriate deadline.

FEDERAL SUBSIDIZED DIRECT STUDENT LOANS

The Federal Subsidized Direct Student Loan program supplies low interest loans to students. Interest rates, fees, and terms of repayment are subject to change by Congress. Interested students should contact the Financial Aid office at the school for further information.

FEDERAL UNSUBSIDIZED DIRECT STUDENT LOANS

The Federal Unsubsidized Direct Loans, for independent undergraduate students, supplement the Federal Stafford Student Loan program. This loan may be used to pay for educational expenses while in attendance at the school and only for the school period. The loan is subject to a guarantee fee. Interest rates, fees, and terms of repayment are subject to change by Congress. Interested students should contact the Financial Aid office at the school for current information.

PARENT DIRECT LOAN (PLUS)

The PLUS loan, for parents of dependent students, supplements the Federal Subsidized Direct Student Loan program. The natural or adoptive parent or legal guardian of the dependent student must begin repayment within 60 days from the date of the loan disbursement. Interest rates are similar to the Federal Direct Loan program. For more information, contact the Financial Aid office.
