Training and Course Options

Our school offers various medical programs that will prepare you for gainful employment within the Medical field. The Ridley-Lowell advantage is guided by our commitment to prepare our students for the national certification exam in their respective program. This sets our graduates apart in their fields and increases their own marketability as graduates of Ridley-Lowell.

 

Our programs include:

  • Medical Assistant

    In our Medical Assistant program, you will learn both administrative and clinical duties. Upon completion of this program, you will be able to obtain a patient's history, take vital signs, perform routine tests, and assist the physician by preparing the room and patient for exams. Our program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Our students can become members of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) and are encouraged to sit for the national certification exam.

  • Medical Administrative Assistant

    This program will provide you with the skills needed to work at a medical facility in an administrative capacity. This curriculum will provide you with training in medical office procedures, terminology, coding, billing and transcription. In addition to your core medical courses, you will master keyboarding, basic accounting, grammar and various computer applications. Our students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exam.

  • Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

    A strong knowledge of medical codes and insurance is necessary to be proficient as a billing and coding specialist. Our program provides training in essential areas for this specialty, such as medical terminology, human body, pharmacology, computer fundamentals, and legal issues of the profession. Our students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exam.

  • Medical Transcription Specialist (evening only)

    A medical transcription specialist prepares reports, letters and documents from transcribing computer files as dictated by health professionals. Areas of learning can include medical terminology, human body, computer fundamentals, keyboarding, pharmacology, and medical transcription. Our program prepares the student for employment as a transcriptionist; in addition, you may use your new skills to become a medical secretary. Our students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exam.
